Dr Anthony Hughes - Chair
My name is Dr Anthony Hughes and I am 52 years old. I’m a GP principle at West Barnes Surgery in New Malden.I am a GP trainer, member of the local LMC, and I sit on the medicines optimisation board for KCCG. My clinical interests include occupational medicine and care of the elderly medicine.
I’ve been chair of Kingston GP Chambers for the last eight years.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with the family and watching rugby.
Dr Richard Van Mellaerts
Richard has been a director of Kingston GP Chambers for the last three years and is responsible for urgent care and extended access. He has set up winter pressure clinics, extended access hubs and is joint medical director of the Kingston Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre.
Richard is a GP partner at Fairhill Medical Practice and has a special clinical interest in mental health.
Outside of work Richard enjoys travel, photography and spending time with his family.
Dr Nick Merrifield
I have been a GP and Partner at Holmwood Corner Surgery in New Malden since 2009 and a Director of Kingston GP Chambers since 2011. I care passionately about providing the highest quality clinical care to all patients, particularly those who are the most vulnerable in our society. I am the primary care lead for Kingston Coordinated Care, working to integrate primary care, secondary care, social care and the voluntary sector to improve outcomes for patients..
Dr Jonathan Edwards
Jonathan has been a GP at Central Surgery since 1990 and became a Kingston GP Chambers Board Member 5 years ago. He has been involved in medicines management locally for 20 years and is a member of the Medicines Optimisation Board. He is also the chair of the joint Individual Funding Request Committee for Kingston and some neighbouring CCGs.
Jonathan is a GP trainer and has interests in respiratory medicine and acupuncture.
When not at work he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and grappling with crosswords.
Dr Dan Fish
Dan is a GP Partner at Langley Medical Practice in Surbiton.
Originally from the North West, he studied at Cambridge before moving to Surrey and becoming a GP in 2003. Now working as a GP partner in Surbiton with a specialist interest in Orthopaedics and Dermatology.
He is a keen cyclist and likes to fall off bikes in his spare time!.
